This exquisite kimono is a continuation of the iconic 10,000 square foot mural created by Mr. D and Eyeful Art in Midtown Houston, June of 2014, famously known as the "Biggest Mural in Houston." Fast forward to 2023, the building and mural have been demolished, but the spirit lives on through this unique piece. The mural's concept was to appropriate imagery from one of the most admired paintings in art history and place it within a contemporary environment, aiming not only to beautify but also to educate. This kimono highlights the global movement of street art and the importance of preserving graffiti art as a significant element of art history.

About Sebastien "Mr.D 1987" Boileau:

Mr. D was influenced by the American Pop Art and Graffiti movement of the 60s, 70s, and 80s and began his artistic endeavors in Paris in 1987 at the age of 14. He migrated to the United States in 1998, where he developed his signature style that he calls “Canpressionism“ a neo-impressionist style primarily done with spray paint and street art techniques. In the early-90s Mr. D began to travel the world painting in remote countries like Sierra Leone, Tunisia, Senegal, and many Western destinations.
